The implementation of the software system is based on the main functionalities for digital signature and cryptographic enciphering/deciphering. It is designed in compliance with all international standards, recommendations and best practices for PKI and crypto processing of electronic data, as well as with the Bulgarian legislation for electronic signature. The system allows execution of a sequence of qualified document digital signatures. Signatures can be executed according to a pre-defined and controlled scheme. This scheme may consist of hierarchical (embeded, nested) and independent (co-sign) signatures, as well as any combined structure of these two. To be crypto processed with the eConfidence SystemTM the originals of the electronic documents (files) are included into a system XML format, CSDoc, which meets all requirements of the standard ETSI TS 101 903: XML Advanced Electronic Signatures (XAdES). What is more, the CSDoc-XML format allows structural expression of the enciphering of the included document, and for that purpose it has been extended by structural elements according to the specifications of W3C XML Encryption Syntax and Processing.
